About Dighir Ganguly Foundation Trust
DighirGanguly Foundation Trust, is formed by Mrs. SimaGanguly and Mr. Soumendra Nath Gangopadhyay, in the memories of their only child DighirGanguly who died in a road accident at the age of 22 while pursuing his MBA degree in Rural Management from a premium institute after completion of his Engineering degree. It is an endeavor of a bereaved parents who devoted themselves to serve the poor people of Sundarbans towards fulfilling the dream of their only child, DighirGanguly, who had a vision to work for the underprivileged people of Sundarbans after completion of his MBA degree.

Dighir Mangrove Plantation
12000 siblings of Mangrove have been planted along 2 K.M. long stretch on Kalindi River bed near Samsernagar, Sundarbans, to protect the river embankment, coastal areas from onslaught of cyclones and tidal surges.

To treat the poor people of Sundarbans against major eye related diseases, an Eye Day Care Hospital named as “DIGHIR ABHISHEK CHOKSHU SEVA KENDRA” has been constructed at Taki, gateway of Sundarbans.

Since 2015, our Trust is running two permanent eye clinics, named as DIGHIR ALO, at Swamiji and Netaji Seva Sangha, Samsernagar and Sri Ramakrishna Sevasram, Sandelerbill, two remote villages under Sundarbans. From April 2022, we started our third eye clinic at Sardarpara, Madhavkathi, a tribal village on the bank of Raymongal river to serve the poorest of the poor tribal people of Sundarbans. Poor villagers of Sundarbans avail eye checkup services through these clinics from an eye specialist.
